Match a metal cutting bandsaw to the shape, size and material of your stock. Horizontal machines support cutoff work with stock held in a vise; vertical machines support table-guided work. Convertible models can serve both operating positions when the manufacturer provides that capability.
Compare round and rectangular stock capacities at the angles you actually use. Miter capacity may differ from the 90-degree rating. Review blade speeds, feed control and whether coolant is built in, optional or unsupported.
Metal capability is model-specific. Some machines support ferrous and nonferrous materials; others have narrower limits. Check the exact manual, suitable blade, electrical requirements and included equipment before selecting a saw.
